Muckross friary is located in Killarney National Park, over 26,000 acres that lie on the shore of the lakes of Killarney and at the foothills of the McGillycuddy's Reeks, the highest mountain range in Ireland.
The friary a short walk (less than 500m) from a carpark on the N71.
The graveyard in the grounds surrounding the Abbey is still in use with a number of burials there each year.
